Bodice Fitting Workshop
Claudia is an avid sewer with over fifty years under her belt. In the recent past decade, she has studied pattern fitting with Pati Palmer, Marta Alto, Pamela Leggett and Louise Cutting.
Now she greatly enjoys passing that knowledge to others. Her two day workshops will get you to a new level of fitting expertise. Your confidence will soar!
We will be using Butterick pattern # 6842. You may choose either sleeve version.
Please buy the correct size by using your HIGH BUST measurement. To get your high bust measurement, pull your tape measurement around your back, under your arms and above your bust…snuggly.
Please wear a tight fitting tank for modesty. Before we meet, rough cut your pattern pieces and dry iron press to save time. Save and bring any large pieces of the tissue paper that has no markings on it. Purchase and pre shrink your fabric.
Bring your pattern, fabric, notions, basic sewing supplies, markers and machine. Also you will need ½” Scotch Magic tape…sometimes hard to find and reuseable tape.
On Day 1, I will demonstrate in several ways what the fitting process is. You will then prepare your pattern pieces for the fitting.
We will spend the remainder of the day getting everybody fitted and on to cutting the fabric. You may use a muslin or your fabric.
Day 2 will be spent fitting and sewing the fabric.
A break will be given for lunch: we have a mini fridge, microwave, and Keurig coffee machine for your use in our classroom. There are also a handful of casual lunch options near our shop.
