Basic Sewing 101 Beginning Sewing

**This class is not intended for complete beginners. We STRONGLY recommend taking our Sewing Fundamentals class as a prerequisite before signing up for this course. Students will be expected to have basic knowledge of how to operate a sewing machine.

This is a six week class that builds onto your basic sewing skills. You will learn how to read a pattern and become self-sufficient to work on your own projects. Carolyn PJ pattern is provided free with the class (other supply costs not included) The main focus of class will be constructing a pair of elasticized PJ pants with pockets. Completion of the pants is guaranteed during your 6 week session. Depending on speed and outside class time spent on the project, most students are able to complete the shirt as well. If more instruction is needed, we encourage students to sign up for our Basic 201 sewing class with Fran, or attend any of our Sew Help Me! open studio time sessions.

Project supplies will need to be purchased before the first week of class**. You will receive a 15% discount on any supplies for the class purchased in the store. 
**The approximated cost of supplies needed for this class will be around $80 with the 15% class discount. Ask our staff about our discounted sale fabric section!

*This is a high demand class and we do our best to accommodate this with our scheduling limitations. If no spots are available, adding yourself to the waitlist is the best way to be added to our queue. We will notify those on the waitlist on a first come, first serve basis if there is a cancellation. Otherwise, waitlisted students will receive priority when new classes become available. (Class schedules are released tri-annually: Jan-April, May-Aug, Sep-Dec)

*This class is open to anyone 16 and older. Exceptions, like those who have aged out of our Kid's Sew classes, require teacher approval.
