FOR ANYONE NEW TO SEWING:
SEWING MACHINE FUNDAMENTALS
Bring that sewing machine you haven’t taken out of the box or is collecting dust to our crash course on: what’s a presser foot, where’s the tension, do you feed the feed dogs and more. You will go home with a simple stash bag made while building skills! $35 includes all supplies, (Fran Kertesz) Wednesday, July, 21, 6 -9 pm, or Friday, August 13, 9 am – noon, or Monday, September 27, 6-9 pm
BASIC SEWING pillows - Make a square pillow up to 20”. You choose what to include on it – Zipper, cording, flange, buttonholes, etc. Talk to Fran about your project when you sign up. $40. July 12 and 19, 6 – 8:30 pm. Supplies needed.
BASIC SEWING 101
This 6 week class takes you from planning your project and getting a pattern or measurements to cutting and sewing. Projects can include garments for yourself or child, curtains, duvet covers, pillows, purses and more. Many techniques and ideas will be highlighted as each class member works on a project of their choice. You may also choose to bring in garments to be altered. 6 weeks $85. Monday, August 2 – September 20 , 6 – 8:30 pm, (No class August 16 and Sept. 6) or Wednesday, August 25 – September 29, 9 – 11:30 am, or Monday, October 4 – November 8, 6 – 8:30 pm. Project supplies will be chosen first class and are not included in fee.
SEWING 201 (Intermediate sewing)
For students who have completed Basic Sewing 101 or have experience sewing. Expand your sewing skills. Try a technique you are afraid to tackle on your own. With more than 35 years sewing experience including custom sewing and alterations, Fran can help you tackle the tough patterns and create a custom made look. $85 Thursday, August 26 – September30, 6 – 8:30 pm
BASIC SEWING LITE – These classes are good for both beginner and advanced sewer
ROW QUILT - Use the flip and sew method to sew and quilt all at once. Use a 4 thread serger or your sewing machine. Some precutting required for this class. Saturday, June 19, 12 – 4 pm.
COSMETIC BAG - Need a quick little gift for graduation or birthdays. You will want to make several of this great little bag. Want to give a bigger gift? Stuff it with essentials or whimsicals. $20 August 10, 9 am – noon (Andrea Anderson) pattern and materials needed
WRAP SKIRT - This simple skirt can be made in any fabric and it looks good on every body type. To mix it up, try making the waistband in a contrasting fabric or keep it sleek and simple. $20, August 31, 6 – 9 pm (Lindsey Landguth Marsh) book and materials needed.
SIMPLE, STYLISH JACKET - : For that event downtown, this jacket is a great alternative to something boring and shapeless. Perfect as something to top off your T-shirt and jeans as the air starts to get that crisp autumn chill. $30, Saturday, August 28, 12 – 4 pm (Lindsey Landguth Marsh) book and materials needed.
SIMPLE BUT SPECIAL KNIT TOP – Make this quick to sew top out of your favorite knit – casual or dressy. New sewers, please let us help you pick out the right knit. Thursday, September 9, 10 am – 1 pm (Barb Whitfield). Pattern and fabric required.

SERGER BASICS
Learn the secrets of threading and rethreading, how you sew differently with a serger and make the most of the differential feed and rolled edge.

SERGER DECORATIVE –
Dare to touch your tensions! See what your serger can do with decorative threads and a little adjusting. 1 class. $20. Free if you purchased your serger at Sewing Circle. Friday, September 24, 10 - Noon (Fran Kertesz)
QUILTING
PAPER PIECING BLOCK OF THE MONTH
Join Andrea to learn to make a paper pieced block each month. This will be a lecture/demo of how to piece the block together. For this BOM you choose your own fabrics. You need not be present to pick up the paper foundations. Cost includes the paper foundations to make one 12” block. Third Tuesday at 10:00 am & second Saturday at 10:15 each month. $7, Each time, present or not. July class is on the 13th.
Hand Quilting
Learn Basic quilting stitches on a sampler piece. You will work with a 18 x 22 inch piece which you can keep as a practice or make into a cabinet topper. Saturday August 21, 10 am – Noon. $15, Materials Needed: 2 fat quarters, metal thimble, 14 – 18” wooden hoop, thread. (Mary Ann Contri)
Beginning Quilting: YELLOW BRICK ROAD
Choose a theme for your quilt by color or purpose (baby, boy, girl, etc.) and let us help you choose the fabrics before the first class. Andrea will then guide you through cutting, piecing, binding and quilting a lap size quilt. All you need from beginning to completion. 4 classes,. $55 additional supplies needed. ($75 if fabrics not purchased at Fran’s Sewing Circle.) Tuesday, September 14 – October 12, 6 – 8:30 pm (No class week of Oct 5)
SNOWMEN, SOUPS, SALADS, AND STEWS.
July is the last snowman, August Anne will share ideas on how to put together the snowmen. Class will have soup, stew or salad depending on the weather outside! You do not have to attend all 12 months we will have this class. Join the fun the months you can make it. Second Wednesday of each month, 6 – 9 pm. $25 includes the main dish and fabric pieces for that month’s snowman, you supply snowman, block base fabric and fusible of your choice. SPRING FLING QUILT -
Come and join Andrea to make this easy quilt. Simple to make and the pattern comes in several sizes to fit your needs. I used lots of fabrics out of one of our new fabric collections to make a scrappy looking quilt. Also would be great in batiks. $25, Friday, July 23, 1-4 pm (Andrea Anderson) Pattern and materials required.
Manzanita Tree –
A knockout quilt with warm batiks with black silhouettes of trees make this a knock out wallhanging. Add the bead leaves for even more impact. $35, September 15 and 22, 2 – 5 pm. (Anne Watson) Pattern and fabric required.
PURSES and more
PRUDENCE THE OWL – Make this cute and easy pillow designed by Valorie Wells for a special child for any occasion. $35 August 19 and 26, 1 – 3:30 pm. (Barb Whitfield). Pattern and fabric required.
SERENDIPITY PURSE – Texture magic is used to enhance the print on the front of this stylish shoulder bag. Learn how to use the texture magic and complete this easy to construct purse. $30. Friday, September 10, 10 am – 2 pm or Saturday, September 25, 10 am – 2 pm. (Fran Kertesz) Texture magic and wool batting included in class. Pattern and fabric required.
EMBROIDERY -
Beginning in September, embroidery club will be open toHusqvarna Viking and Brother sewing machine owners. Space is limited and project designs need to be ordered, so please try to register at least a week before club time.
July: no club
August: Singing Birds Wallhanging or pillow
September: Border – Make a knapsack with a funky border, or add a scroll border to pillowcases and sheets. This month we begin offering evening embroidery club also.

SMOCKING AND HEIRLOOM
BASIC SMOCKING - BISHOP
Begin with a dress that has been cut out and pleated for you and learn the technique of smocking on a curve. The last class will be completing construction of the dress. $65 includes the preparation of the dress. Participants are required to purchase fabric at least one week before class so fabric can be prepared. 4 sessions Monday, September 13 – October 4, 9:30 – 11:30 am or 6:30 – 8:30 pm. 3D/4D PRO SOFTWARE
Linda Stanley offers a professional software class on the third Thursday of each month 9:30 am 11:30 am. These classes are good for anyone even new owners of the 3D/4D Professional system software. $15 YOU MUST PREREGISTER WITH Fran’s Sewing Circle or Linda Stanley
4D ORGANIZER AND QUICK FONTS.
If you have any of the Husqvarna Viking Designer embroidery machines, you received this amazing little program with it. Learn what it does and more on how to get new designs to your embroidery machine. Friday, July 16, 10 am – noon (Fran Kertesz)
4D EMBROIDERY BASICS
This class will use the basic 4D embroidery module, therefore, anyone with 4D software (4D Embroidery, 4D Extra, and 4D Professional) will benefit from this class. Machine Basics: Use of feet that come with the machines, threading, using basic stitches to your advantage, care of machine - ALL Husqvarna Viking MODELS
Machine Decorative: Appliqué, using basic stitches decoratively, basic heirloom and quilting - ALL Husqvarna Viking MODELS
Hoop Embroidery: Learn all the options built into the machine for using your embroidery and also about stabilizers, what and when to use. All Husqvarna Viking machines with embroidery unit.
Programming: Learn all the other “buttons” and how to combine stitches to create unique embellishments. All Designers, Sapphires, Platinum's
GEMS OF THE DESIGNER DIAMOND: All Designer Diamond owners. Special features of the Diamond. Call to reserve space and know what to bring for class.
