FOR ANYONE NEW TO SEWING:
SEWING MACHINE FUNDAMENTALS
$35 includes all supplies, Instructor: Fran Kertesz
Bring that sewing machine you haven’t taken out of the box or is collecting dust to our crash course on: what’s a presser foot, where’s the tension, do you feed the feed dogs and more. You will go home with a simple stash bag made while building skills! One session, Monday, July 15, 6 – 8:30 pm or September 23, 6 – 8:30 pm, or Friday August 16, 9 – 11:30 am or March 1 9 – 11:30 am (This class meets the same time as the first Basic sewing class and covers the same material)
BASIC SEWING 101
$90 Instructor: Fran Kertesz
This 6 week class begins with machine and fabric basics. You will then choose a project, pattern, fabric and complete at least one project. Projects can include garments for yourself or child, curtains, pillows, purses and more. Many techniques and ideas will be highlighted as each class member works on a project of their choice. Project supplies will be chosen in first class and are not included in fee. Monday, July 15 – August 26, 6 – 8:30 pm (No class August 5), or Friday August 16 – September 20, 9 – 11:30 am or Monday September 23 – October 28, 6 – 8:30 pm
BASIC SEWING 201 (Intermediate sewing)
$70 Instructor: Fran Kertesz
For students who have completed Basic Sewing 101 or have experience sewing. Expand your sewing skills. Try a technique you are afraid to tackle on your own. If you are interested in learning alteration techniques, this is also a class for you. With more than 45 years sewing experience including custom sewing and alterations, Fran can help you tackle the tough patterns and create a custom made look. 6 classses, Thursday August 1 – September 5, 6 – 8:30 pm or Thursday September 26 – October 17, 6 – 8:30 pm (4 week class $45)
SEWING STUDIO
If you have a project you want to tackle but think you might need a little help – Sewing Studio is for you! Are those UFO’s still lying around the house but you can’t seem to find the time, space or encouragement to complete them – Sewing Studio is for you! We will have both a quilt instructor and a fashion/home decorating teacher to assist you in finishing your project or help you through a step you are "stuck" on. 1 - 4 pm, Second and Fourth Tuesday 12 – 3 PM, second Saturday. One price whether you stay 15 minutes or three hours. $5 if materials purchased at Sewing Circle, $15 if materials in project were purchased elsewhere. Preregistration not required. QUILTING
PAPER PIECING BLOCK OF THE MONTH

Join Andrea to learn to make a paper pieced block each month. This will be a lecture/demo of how to piece the block together. For this BOM you choose your own fabrics. You need not be present to pick up the paper foundations. Cost includes the paper foundations to make one 12” block. Third Tuesday at 10:00 am. Second Saturday at 10:00 am $7, Each time, present or not. (NO PAPER PIECING IN AUGUST)
BASIC QUILTING - TRY QUILTING TABLE RUNNER

Want to see if you might like quilting? This class is a small investment in time and material yetyou learn all the basics for quilting: how to cut, piece, sandwich, quilt and bind a quilt. So don’t be afraid to give it a TRY!

BEGINNING QUILTING Cloud 9

Choose a theme for your quilt by color or purpose (baby, boy, girl, etc.) and let us help you choose the fabrics before the first class. You will be guided through the correct way to cut, piece, bind and quilt a lap size quilt. All you need from beginning to completion. 4 classes, Tuesday, September 17 – October 15 (no class October 8), 6 – 8:30 pm or Monday September 23 – October 14, 9 – 11:30 am class fee is $55 if fabrics purchased at Fran’s Sewing Circle.
SCIENCE FAIR QUILT

URBAN ABACUS QUILT

Did you ever use or play with an abacus as a child. This quilt looks like a large version of that old counter. Conquer curves with the right ruler and this amazing modern quilt design. Wednesday, September 4, 9 am – Noon.
EXPLORING MACHINE APPLIQUE TECHNIQUE
$25 Instructor: Fran Kertesz
This class will look at several approaches to machine appliqué. You will leave with a small sampler. If you also would like to try appliqué on a knit, bring a t shirt or onesie. Monday September 9, 9 am – noon.
HAND QUILTING
$15 Instructor: Mary Ann Contri
Learn basic quilting stitches on a sampler piece. You will work with a 18" x 22" piece which you can keep as a practice sample or make into a tablet topper. Saturday, August 3, 10am-Noon. Materials Needed: 2 Fat Quarters, metal thimble,14-18" wooden hoop, thread.
HAND APPLIQUE

Learn the mechanics of needle turn appliqué as you make a simple sample you can incorporate into a quilt or pillow. Saturday, September 7, 10 am – noon
MUG RUG OF THE MONTH

The summer sunbonnet is easy and fun to construct and takes a yard of fabric or less. Can be made from one fabric or two or even reversible for double the fun. Friday, July 19, 10 am – 2 pm
POM POM PINCUSSION

From Bareroots Project book, make this fun pincushion that rests in a tart tin. Practice hand embroidery stitches and make this for yourself or a gift. Use embroidery floss or the wonderful, rich colors of pearl cotton. Thursday, August 22, 1 – 4 pm.
ROLLAR SKATE DRESS

CANDLE MAT HAND EMBROIDERY

This small round mat has a pretty scalloped edge. Learn the embroidery the first class and sewing together with the scallop, the second. The sample picture shows the flower and heard embroidery. PICTURE SMOCKING

You will learn how to "stack" or create picture smocking designs on an inset in this 2 week class. Geometric smocking is a pre-requisite to this class. Monday, July 15 – 22, 6:30 – 8:30 pm
BASIC SMOCKING - BISHOP
$65 includes the preparation of the dress. Instructor: Sharon Tartt
Begin with a dress that has been cut out and pleated for you and learn the technique of smocking on a curve. The last class will be completing construction of the dress. Participants are required to purchase fabric at least one week before class so fabric can be prepared. SERGER BASICS

Get to know your serger, how to thread, adjust tension, length, gathering and more. Some trouble shooting tips and how it is different than your sewing machine. Friday, July 26, 10 am – noon
SERGER PILLOWCASE DRESS
$30: Fran Kertesz
A strippy dress that uses 5 fun prints. It is one size for sizes 2 – 6, but the fit is easy and all that really matters is the length. Supplies are 4 thread serger ( or if you want to try a serger, arrange to use one of ours) 3/8 yard of 5 different fabrics. 4 spools of thread to blend with your fabric. The pattern is free, but only available to class participants.

Want to learn the latest and greatest in new embroidery techniques, see what others have been working on, and be inspired to take your embroidery skills to the next level? Then Sew What?! Is for you! Open to all Embroidery machine owners whose machine uses a USB input. If your machine does not take a USB input, No Worries! Please contact the store ahead of class time to make arrangements for getting your designs.
Classes will be $35. We supply all stabilizers, you supply additional materials.

EMBROIDERY EXPLORATIONS
This monthly class will either highlight a particular hoop, machine embroidery technique or rerun one of the more popular “Embroider This” sessions that some may have missed or been closed out of because of a full class. Class fee depends on price of designs. Third Thursday 1 – 4 pm. Resumes in September after a summer break.

NEW 5D EMBROIDERY BASICS
For those who one 5D embroidery and 5D embroidery extra, we are now offering a monthly class that starts with the basics. Linda brings her expertise and classes with handouts, so you can redo the lesson at home, to the basics of embroidery software. You can take this class if you have the professional system also, we will just be working with the basic program. $15 YOU MUST PREREGISTER WITH Fran’s Sewing Circle or Linda Stanley at least three days before class to get class materials. First Thursday of each month.
4D/5D PRO SOFTWARE
Linda Stanley offers a professional software class on the third Thursday of each month 9:30 am Noon. These classes are good for anyone even new owners of the 4D/5D Professional system software. $15 YOU MUST PREREGISTER WITH Fran’s Sewing Circle or Linda Stanley
FEATHERED STAR EMBRIODABLOCK OF THE MONTH QUILT
Program started in February, the third Thursday of each month. Monthly class fee is $5 after you have purchased the 10 month program.
