FOR ANYONE NEW TO SEWING:
SEWING MACHINE FUNDAMENTALS
Bring that sewing machine you haven’t taken out of the box or is collecting dust to our crash course on: what’s a presser foot, where’s the tension, do you feed the feed dogs and more. You will go home with a simple stash bag made while building skills! BASIC SEWING 101
This 6 week class takes you from planning your project and getting a pattern or measurements to cutting and sewing. Projects can include garments for yourself or child, curtains, duvet covers, pillows, purses and more. Many techniques and ideas will be highlighted as each class member works on a project of their choice. You may also choose to bring in garments to be altered. 6 weeks $85. Project supplies will be chosen in first class and are not included in fee. BASIC SEWING 201 (Intermediate sewing)
For students who have completed Basic Sewing 101 or have experience sewing. Expand your sewing skills. Try a technique you are afraid to tackle on your own. With more than 35 years sewing experience including custom sewing and alterations, Fran can help you tackle the tough patterns and create a custom made look. $85 Thursday January 12 – February 16, 6 – 8:30 pm, or March 8 – April 11, 6 – 8:30 pm.
SEWING STUDIO
If you have a project you want to tackle but think you might need a little help – Sewing Studio is for you! Are those UFO’s still lying around the house but you can’t seem to find the time, space or encouragement to complete them – Sewing Studio is for you! We will have both a quilt instructor and a fashion/home decorating teacher to assist you in finishing your project or help you through a step you are "stuck" on. 1 - 4 pm, Second and Fourth Tuesday and 12 – 3 PM, second Saturday. One price whether you stay 15 minutes or three hours. $5 if materials purchased at Sewing Circle, $15 if materials in project were purchased elsewhere. Preregistration not required but helpful.
SEW INSPIRED- (Modern Quilting and sewing community)
Do you love modern quilting and sewing techniques, fabrics, and patterns? Are you looking to become part of a community of sewers who love what you love? Then Sew Inspired is for you! We will demonstrate a modern quilt block technique and a modern sewing technique each class. The rest of the time will be spent sharing projects, ideas, websites, patterns, and inspirations!

QUILTING
PAPER PIECING BLOCK OF THE MONTH
Join Andrea to learn to make a paper pieced block each month. This will be a lecture/demo of how to piece the block together. For this BOM you choose your own fabrics. BEGINNING QUILTING - Yellow Brick Road
- Beginning Quilting
Choose a theme for your quilt by color or purpose (baby, boy, girl, etc.) and let us help you choose the fabrics before the first class. Using acclaimed quilter Harriet Hargrave’s precision quilting techniques, you will be guided through the correct way to cut, piece, bind and quilt a lap size quilt. SMALL TO TALL WALLHANGING
A great beginner appliqué quilt with large pieces and easy to stitch around. Make this fun growth chart for your own child or grandchild or an excellent gift. Saturday, January 28, 11 am – 2 pm. $23 plus pattern and fabric. (Mary Ann Contri)
MACHINE QUILTING

BREAKFAST AT THE BEACH
We are at the completion part of the Beach walk Quilt. January 24 will be piecing and beginning to stitch down appliqués, (Note a change to Monday) February 20 will be quilting the backgrounds, March 26 will be completion and binding. Class is $10, 9-11:30 am. (Fran Kertesz)
EQUAL RIGHT QUILT
Triangles triangles and a few surprise triangles. 60 degree triangles in 8 prints and an accent make up this unique quilt. A fun quilt to assemble. Tuesday February 7, 6 – 8:30 pm. $20. Fabric and pattern required. Precutting of fabric required before class. (Andrea Anderson)
STRIP SEARCH QUILT

SALAD BAR TABLE RUNNER

TWIST THE NIGHT AWAY

BIG TEN QUILT
A perfect design for big prints or to show off a favorite collection. This is a quick pattern to make a large size quilt that has “10 rating” for impact. Ppicture is of part of quilt. EQ 6&7
Get your questions answered during this hands on class. You will learn the fundamentals of this fantastic quilting software so that you can design your own blocks and quilts. Tuesday, November 8, 9-11:00 am, $20 (Andrea Anderson).
HAND QUILTING
- Learn Basic quilting stitches on a sampler piece. You will work with a 18 x 22 inch piece which you can keep as a practice or make into a cabinet topper. Saturday, February 18, 10 am – Noon. $15, Materials Needed: 2 fat quarters, metal thimble, 14 – 18” wooden hoop, thread. (Mary Ann Contri)
HAND APPLIQUE
- Learn how to needle turn appliqué a butterfly on a sampler piece. You will work with a 12X12 inch piece of background fabric, which you can keep as a practice or make into a pillow. VALORIE WELLS KNIT (or woven) SKIRT
One tiny pattern is all you need to make a skirt for a girl or adult. Techniques for making a knit skirt are used although you can also make this skirt with woven fabric. No serger required. Wednesday, March 14, 1- 4 pm $25, plus pattern and materials. (Barbara Whitfield)

SMOCKING AND HEIRLOOM
BASIC SMOCKING – BISHOP
Begin with a dress that has been cut out and pleated for you and learn the technique of smocking on a curve. The last class will be completing construction of the dress. $65 includes the preparation of the dress. Participants are required to purchase fabric at least one week before class so fabric can be prepared. 4 sessions, Monday, October 17- November 7, 6:30 – 8:30 pm and Wednesday, October 12-November 2, 9:30-11:30 am. Want to learn the latest and greatest in new embroidery techniques, see what others have been working on, and be inspired to take your embroidery skills to the next level? Then Sew What?! Is for you! Open to all Embroidery machine owners whose machine uses a USB input. If your machine does not take a USB input, No Worries! Please contact the store ahead of class time to make arrangements for getting your designs.
Classes will be $15. We supply all stabilizers, you supply additional materials.
